"MIKATCHA" VOLVO PENTA D12-650
'She's awesome' - says ex RNLI cox'n Charlie Bartlett as he starts work with new charter angling boat 'Mikatcha'.
Mikatcha is fitted with a Volvo D12, commercially rated at 650hp which gives a
top speed of 27 knots and a fast cruising speed of 23 knots. Electronic controls
are standard and the engine has proved very smooth and powerful as well as economical,
says Safehaven Marine.
"Being good value too it is likely to become the standard fit large capacity engine
for Interceptors in the future", says Frank Kowalski - Safehaven Chief.
Mikatcha meets the MCA Code Of Practice category 2 which is 60 miles from any safe haven.
With controls both in the main cabin and on the upper deck, taking the Mikatcha out
is just as much fun on a wet day as a sunny day.
